As a partner at Herbert & Weiss, attorney Helayne M. Weiss helps clients throughout New Jersey in all types of family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, adoptions, name changes, and domestic violence restraining orders. She also represents individuals and businesses in matters involving business or municipal law, estate planning, and commercial and residential real estate transactions. The firm additionally maintains a significant appellate practice and currently represents several municipalities in tax appeal work.
Helayne Weiss earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she was a member of Gryphon and Pleiades, an honor society limited to no more than 12 seniors who exemplify the ideals of leadership, scholarship, and citizenship. She earned her Juris Doctor law degree from the City University of New York, during which time she served as Law Clerk to the Honorable Clifford A. Scott of the New York Supreme Court, Criminal Division.

Ms. Weiss is a former member of the Bergen County Advisory Council on Disabilities. She has received a Certificate of Commendation for Outstanding Service to Victims of Domestic Violence from the Bergen County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Bergen County Department of Human Services. She currently serves as President of Women Lawyers in Bergen.
